Usually, yes. An off-track door is often a symptom rather than the problem itself: a broken cable, a seized roller, a bent track, or something struck the door. We put the door back on track, then find and fix what caused it, otherwise it just happens again. Please don't try to run the opener or force the door in the meantime. A door that's off track can fall, and the springs are still under full tension.

Not always. Garage doors are built in sections, so a single damaged panel can often be replaced while the rest of the door stays put. It depends on how old the door is, whether that panel is still made, and whether the impact also bent the track or rollers. We assess the damage on site and tell you honestly which way is the better value. If the panel is discontinued we'll say so rather than chase a part that no longer exists.

If the door is off track, a spring has snapped, or a cable has come loose, stop using it. Leave it in whatever position it's in, don't run the opener, and keep children and vehicles clear. For a noisy or slow door that's still operating normally, careful use is generally fine until we get there. If you're unsure, call and describe what it's doing. We'd rather talk you through it on the phone than have someone get hurt guessing.

The parts that actually wear out, springs, cables, rollers, hinges, bearings and weatherseal, are largely standard sizes and remain available even for doors well past twenty years old. Panels and decorative hardware are the exception, since those get discontinued.
